poetry to make beautiful songs about love & leprosy. The material draws on Rabins' study at Pardes while playing in rock clubs at
night. Alicia is also a member of Golem.

Stereo Sinai
Stereo Sinai is the Good Book like you've never heard it before. Mixing conservation with innovation, Miriam Broussaeu and Alan
Sufrin lend renewed relevance to ancient texts with their "Biblegum Pop."

Naomi Less
This Jewish Chick Rocker delivers an edgy-pop rock show with soulful melodies and tribal lyrics. Naomi has dedicated her life to
music that promotes full inclusion of un-objectified women. She founded, Jewish Chicks Rock to inspire girls to pick up instruments
and express themselves through rock music. Naomi is a founding member of Storahtelling and is its Director of Education and
Training.

Sofia drew. This play, which weaves together actors, puppets, and video, tells the story of Sofia's life, her hopes, and fears
during that time. Sofia's Drawings recently received top honors for best play and music at the International Theatre Festival in
Haifa.

United States Vice President Joe Biden tried to put the furor over announcement of plans to build 1,600 units in Ramat Shlomo behind
him, saying during a speech Thursday at Tel Aviv University that he condemned the move because as a friend he was compelled to
"deliver the hardest truth," but adding that he appreciated the clarifications he received on the matter from Prime Minister
Binyamin Netanyhau.

He opened the speech by stressing the importance of US-Israel friendship and Washington's commitment to the security of the Jewish
state, saying that "US President Barack Obama and myself know that the US has no better friend in the community of nations than
Israel."

Regarding the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, the US vice president called for a two-states solution, saying that peace with
Palestinians is "profoundly" in Israel's interest, and stressing that Washington is committed to Israel'ssecurity.

"From my experience, the one precondition for progress is that the rest of the world knows this - there is no space between the US
and Israel when it comes tosecurity - none. That's the only time that progress has been made," he said.

On Tuesday (March 9), Israel's interior ministry announced that 1,600 new housing units would be constructed in Ramat Shlomo, a
northern Jerusalem neighborhood falling within the city's municipal boundaries and annexed by Israel following the 1967 defensive
Six-Day War. The timing of the announcement coincided with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden's visit to the region as part of a U.S.
attempt to push proximity talks between Israel and the Palestinians.

During a press conference with Biden March 9, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyhau said, "I... appreciate the Administration's
effort to advance peace in the region. I know that this has been difficult and has required a great deal of patience, but I'm
pleased that these efforts are beginning to bear fruit and we have to be persistent and purposeful in making sure that we get to
those direct negotiations that will enable us to resolve this conflict."

Israeli Interior Minister Eli Yishai apologized for the timing of the announcement. "The approval is a purely technical matter and
we have no intention of insulting or seeking a confrontation with the U.S. vice president," said Yishai, adding, "I apologize for
the distress this matter caused." An interior ministry spokeswoman added that the new construction project had been in the planning
stages for the past three years and that the timing was coincidental.

An Israeli surgeon, involved in his country's widely-acclaimed rescue effort after the killer earthquake in Haiti, is touring the
United States, sharing his expertise.

Dr. Ofer Merin of Jerusalem's Shaare Zedek Hospital headed the surgical team that left for Haiti shortly after the quake hit. On a
recent stop in Chicago, he told WBBM the team was able to get up and running more quickly because a small advance team with
satellite phones was able to tell them what to expect once they arrived. "It took less than six hours from the minute that our
equipment arrived there that we started to treat the first patients."

The toughest part, says Dr. Merin, were the heart-wrenching decisions of which patients to treat from among tens of thousands who
urgently needed medical care. Dr. Merin says the Israeli team treated over 1100 patients in 10 days, more than 100 a day, and
delivered 16 babies. But, the ones he remembers most are the ones who haunt him - those they had to turn away because they just
didn't have the resources to help everyone.
